The East Tennessee Section of the American Chemical Society (ETS-ACS) has selected Oak Ridge High School science teacher Sharon Thomas as this year’s outstanding teacher of science in our geographical area. Dr. Thomas has been recommended as one who interacts well with students and instills in them an interest in the opportunities of the sciences. These are characteristics ETS-ACS wishes to acknowledge and led to her selection as the 2018 ETS-ACS Outstanding High School Science Teacher.
Sharon will be honored at an Awards Night Banquet and Program at JIAM in Knoxville on Friday, May 11. The program will consist of brief introductions of award winners in several categorise, and then a lecture by Dr. Michael Fricke.
Oak Ridge Schools join the ETS-ACS is expressing great pleasure that Sharon Thomas has won this award for high school science teacher.
