SafeTN is a new app available through the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security. This system, much like our Oak Ridge Schools P3 Campus app called, “Alert ORS,” allows users to submit tips intended to keep our community safe. We recommend that students use Alert ORS to submit reports about school safety concerns on campus, as these reports are sent immediately to school officials. In addition to the Alert ORS app, we want to make parents/community members aware of SafeTN for reporting community safety concerns. Incidents are reported anonymously and can include the following: assault, sexual misconduct, bragging about an upcoming planned attack, violence/planned violence/threats of violence, and physical injury or harm to self or others. Tips can be submitted 24/7. The Department of Homeland Security will review and assess each tip submitted. When you submit a tip you will be asked to give a detailed description of the incident, the type of incident, the person(s) involved, and the date. As always, if your concern involves a life-threatening emergency, please call 9-1-1. Thank you for your help in keeping our Oak Ridge community safe.
