On Thursday, January 25, sixteen students from Jefferson Middle School participated the annual geography bee. These students qualified for the finals by scoring the highest in their classes during the preliminary round. Evelyn Williamson won the bee when she correctly answered a question about oil production and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Other top performers in the JMS bee include Bobby Slattery, Ethan Riikola, and Samuel Bentley.
Robertsville Middle School held its geography bee in early November. Seventh grader Matt Kitts won the RMS competition for the third year in a row. Sean Gilbert, also a seventh grader, finished as the first runner-up in the bee. Fifth grader Jayden Davis placed third.
Congratulations to Evelyn and Matt. They will compete for the opportunity to participate in the State Geographic Bee on April 6 in Nashville.
