On Wednesday, January 23, thirty-five students from Jefferson Middle School took part in the annual Geographic Bee. 8th graders Ashley Godfrey and Ella Kendall advanced to the finals. Ella won the event by correctly answering this question– “February 2019 marks the start of the Alpine World Ski Championships. This competition will be held in which country that is the most populous in Scandinavia?ā The answer is Sweden.
Robertsville Middle School held its annual Geography Bee in November. 8th grader Matt Kitts won the RMS Geography Bee by defeating nine other students. Matt has won the Geography Bee for four consecutive years. 8th grader Joe Blair placed second in the competition. Greg Hamilton is the sponsor of the Geography Bee Club at RMS.
Congratulations to Matt and Ella as they will both go on to the State Geographic Bee to be held in Nashville in the spring.
