Password Security (NetID)
To increase account security, it is a good practice to make your NetID password as long and complex as feasible. Your NetID password should be easy for you to remember, and difficult for others to guess.
Keep Your Password Secure
- Don’t write your password down or store it on your computer in a document or text file
- Keep your District NetID password different from any other personal use passwords
- Rotate your password on a regular basis
- Always change your password immediately if you suspect that someone else might have guessed it
- Never E-mail or share your password with other users
District Password Requirements
At least 8 characters, including at least three of these four character types:
- Uppercase letters
- Lowercase letters
- Numbers
- Symbols found on your keyboard, such as ! # % () : | / ]
Excluded or disallowed:
- Your NetID (your password cannot include your NetID)
- Your first or last name
