On Thursday, August 18, a delegation of students and chaperones from Naka Shi, Japan will arrive as part of Oak Ridge’s exchange program with its Sister City. In July, ten students from Jefferson Middle and Robertsville Middle Schools and four chaperones traveled to Japan. Now it is Oak Ridge’s turn to host the students from Naka Shi. The Japanese guests will enjoy a pizza party at Robertsville, attend classes with their student hosts, and visit Gatlinburg, downtown Knoxville, and ORNL. At the end of their stay, the Japanese guests will be honored with a farewell party at Briarcliff Pool.
Savannah and Lauryn Rouse, Eli Gardner, Brian Fuson, and Madeline Davis represented Robertsville on the exchange while Austin Mayes, Jayden Ellis, Abby Hausladen, Jakob Nussbaum and Sarah Hammons represented Jefferson. These students will serve as hosts. Julie Lee, Rick Chinn, Myles Hebrard, and Melissa Fox were the chaperones.
