The first day of classes for Oak Ridge Schools is Monday, July 22, but several important events are happening before that date depending what grade and school your student is entering. Families should also note that July 22 is a district-wide early release day. School schedules can be found here. High School Events
Freshmen entering Oak Ridge High School must attend the schoolās Freshmen Orientation on Thursday, July 18, from 8 ā 11:00 a.m.
Other students that are new to Oak Ridge High School and are entering grades 10, 11 and 12, should attend New Student Orientation on July 18, from 11:00 a.m. ā 12:00 p.m.
The ORHS Open house is for all students and families, and is scheduled for Thursday, August 8, from 5:30 ā 7:30 p.m.
A High School Back to School Bash, open to all high school students, will be held Saturday, July 27 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Blankenship Field. There will be a food truck, ice cream, kickball, tug of war, corn hole, volleyball and more.
Middle School Orientations
Jefferson Middle School – An orientation program for incoming fifth grade students and new students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades will be held in the Jefferson Gym on Thursday, July 18, from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Bus service will not be provided.Ā Students attending this orientation should report to the gym.
Robertsville Middle School ā An orientation program for new students and incoming fifth graders will be held in the Robertsville Auditorium on Friday, July 19 from 9 – 10:30 a.m. No bus service will be provided. Additionally, all students are invited to the Back to School Bash on Thursday, July 18, from 5:30 ā 7:30 p.m. There will be an opportunity for new 6th, 7th and 8th grade students to tour the school during that time.
