The Oak Ridge Fire Department visited Woodland Elementary on Thursday, October 19th to help us learn about fire safety. The morning began with an assembly for students in grades 2 – 4.
After the assembly, ORFD set up fire safety rotations for each grade level to go through. Our students had the chance to practice stop, drop, and roll. They visited the inflatable Firehouse to learn how to be safe at home, and practice crawling under smoke in case of a fire.
We learned about the safety gear that firefighters wear and how they quickly put it on when called to a fire. Everyone’s favorite Fire Dog, Sparky, also paid us a visit.
It was a fun day of learning. Thank you ORPD firefighters for a great day!
