The Woodland Hawk Bots Lego League Challenge Team have had an amazing 2022-23 season this year! We began in August with learning about this year’s Mission, “Super Powered,” with a focus on providing energy. Our Hawk Bots researched energy and came up with an innovative solution to producing energy – creating a household unit that would convert trash to syngas, which could then be used like natural gas to provide energy to your home.
While working on the project, our team also had to build our Mission board and a robot to complete the missions on the board. The team worked together to program the robot as well as make some changes along the way.
In December the Hawk Bots competed in the Secret City Qualifier at Jefferson Middle School. During the Qualifier, the team presented the project and the robot, and competed in the robot game. It was a great day, and they did an amazing job! All of their hard work qualified our team to compete in the East Tennessee State Competition.
Before the state competition, our team enjoyed a fun day of competition at the Atomic City Invitational. To prepare, we built and programmed 5 more robots to compete in the Sumo Bots Competition, as well as taking our Mission robot to compete in the Robot Game and the Alliance Challenge (which we won with our Alliance partner team: NX36T)!
In February the Woodland Hawk Bots competed in the State Competition and did an amazing job! We are so proud of our Hawk Bots and all the work they put in this season!
