Woodland welcomed the Oak Ridge Fire Department for fire safety on Monday, November 1st. Our students really enjoyed practicing fire safety with our local firefighters. As they discussed the need for a fire escape plan, we were led through their new inflatable house. When we reached the end of the house, we were able to practice crawling low as we would if there were smoke.
We’ve all heard the phrase, “Stop, drop, and roll.” ORFD reviewed with our kids the importance of “Stop, drop, and roll,” and then gave them a chance to practice it. We also learned all about the newest fire truck. It was a great day.
Don’t forget to talk to your child about fire safety and make sure your family has a fire safety plan with a safe meeting place and two ways to exit.
Thank you to Oak Ridge Fire Department!
