Our first graders recently celebrated our 120th Day of School! This year especially, making it to our 120th day is quite a feat. We celebrate our 120th day of school because one of our key standards in first grade is being able to count and write numbers to 120. At this time of year, many of our first graders are mastering or close to mastering this standard, so it just seems fitting to celebrate with a 120th Day of school.
We have many fun activities to practice counting to 120 and thinking about place value and number placement. For instance our cereal necklaces, they give our kids practice counting to 120 and we can enjoy them as a snack later in the day.
We love the 120th day of school!
