On Monday, August 21st Woodland Elementary students took a field trip to the Boys and Girls Club of Oak Ridge for a once-in-a-lifetime experience: a Total Solar Eclipse.
Leading up and following the Eclipse, our students spent time exploring what an eclipse is, how it happens, and the difference between a partial and total solar eclipse. This learning helped us realize how special our total solar eclipse experience would be.
Students, teachers, and parents were able to experience the eclipse on the fields at Boys and Girls Club.
Each student was provided with Solar Eclipse glasses to view the partial and total eclipse.
It was a truly amazing experience! Thank you to the Boys and Girls Club for sharing their facilities with us!
