Oak Ridge Schools Superintendent Dr. Bruce Borchers today announced the appointment of Dr. Kirk Renegar as principal of Robertsville Middle School effective July 1, 2018. An interview committee comprised of Robertsville and central office staff selected Dr. Renegar following the screening of applications and interviews of selected candidates. In 2008 he relocated to Tennessee where he worked for Knox County Schools as both a social studies teacher and varsity baseball head coach at Hardin Valley Academy. Dr. Renegar subsequently returned to his home state in 2013 where he was the assistant principal and athletic director at Patrick County High School. He most recently served as principal of Hardin Reynolds Memorial School in Critz, VA.
The new principal holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern American History from Brevard College and a Master of Science degree in Education from Shenandoah University. Dr. Renegar also earned his Educational Specialist in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University and Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Liberty University.
Dr. Borchers shared that he is so “pleased to have Dr. Renegar join the excellent staff at Robertsville Middle School. I look forward to his leadership and believe that the Robertsville students, parents, and staff will be very excited to make him part of the Robertsville family.”
