Oak Ridge Schools’ Preschool is funded by Head Start, Title I, IDEA-B (Special Education), the Governor’s Voluntary Pre-K dollars and district funds. We provide a comprehensive, blended and full inclusion program for children who present risk factors that may impact their ability to succeed in school.
Eligibility Criteria
- Risk factors that place a child at risk for learning to include, but are not limited to low income, developmental delays, behavioral concerns, foster or relative placement, environmental factors, recent experience of crisis, and English as a second language.
- Residency – Applicants and their legal guardian(s) must reside in Oak Ridge (no exceptions).
- Age – Applicants must be at least three years old and no older than four years of age on August 15th of the year they are enrolling.
Unfortunately, funding, space availability, and mandated class sizes limit the Preschool enrollment to approximately 200 children. A waiting list is maintained.
