The JMS teachers will not be slowing down after testing! This is both a testament to our teachers, but also the skills of your students. JMS students keep pushing and expanding their knowledge, and we are here to serve them.
Our teachers and leadership team spent time analyzing benchmark data and setting goals for all of our students in their Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies classes. We are so proud of achievement and growth, yet we are pushing and strategizing with intention and planning.
While students will not return to school on Monday, JMS staff will gather with great anticipation for professional learning and preparation. We will be analyzing data, setting goals, and planning for our last leg of the 2023 school year!

First, a message of thanks for your flexibility and understanding during our dismissal on Friday. We know it was short notice, but between our parents, our bus drivers, and our school staff, it was orderly and quick, and all our students were away before the storm started. Again, we thank you for working with us.
As we begin our final round of benchmark testing this week, we are anticipating success in all of our classes!
Academically, we want to take the time to encourage all of our parent and families to check in with your child weekly, daily, through conversations about classes, projects, and learning goals. One excellent way to walk through some of the content and agendas for each class is to navigate CANVAS together.
The Jefferson Middle School (JMS) FIRST Lego League teams represented Oak Ridge well in the East Tennessee State Championship on Saturday, February 11.
