We are finally finished with our TCAPS! However, the show must go on! Students will continue to have learning opportunities in every classroom, much of it hands on and project-based. Our Eagles are expected to finish strong, and we appreciate our JMS families helping us to remind students to do their best every day, every class period, every minute!
We have ONE more testing day left. Your students take these tests seriously, and we are very appreciative. All we ask is that they come to school well-rested and with a mind to finish their testing strong.

We in are our final regular week before we start TCAP testing. Our teachers will be pushing to teach remaining standards and review hard with your students. TCAPs are one of the ways in which we measure your student's progress. It is important, but YOUR STUDENT IS MORE THAN A TCAP score.
Our teachers spent Monday of last week reviewing student scores and data in the most meaningful ways to best prepare our students for end of year TCAPs. We also kicked of our final data snapshot meetings last week, meeting with Math and ELA teachers. We want our families to know that teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators work together alongside of you to ensure we are maximizing your child's potential in every area.
As we approach our two-week calendar break, we will be busy with testing in the building this short four-day week. Our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade benchmark testing is happening each day. Remember, these tests are formative so that we can best carry on with instruction based on the data. We appreciate your help in ensuring that students are well- prepared, present, and on time each day.
As we approach the spring season and end of Term 3, we want remind families of the upcoming final benchmarks. Our students will be taking benchmark tests in the coming weeks. These assessments help us gauge their progress and identify areas where they might need additional support. Encourage your child to give their best effort and let them know that these tests are an opportunity to showcase their learning.
A nutritious breakfast fuels up middle schoolers and gets them ready for the day. In general, preteens and teens who eat breakfast have more energy and do better in school. Help boost your child's attention span, concentration, and memory with breakfast foods that are rich in whole grains, fiber, and protein, and low in added sugar.
