As we approach the spring season and end of Term 3, we want remind families of the upcoming final benchmarks. Our students will be taking benchmark tests in the coming weeks. These assessments help us gauge their progress and identify areas where they might need additional support. Encourage your child to give their best effort and let them know that these tests are an opportunity to showcase their learning.
A nutritious breakfast fuels up middle schoolers and gets them ready for the day. In general, preteens and teens who eat breakfast have more energy and do better in school. Help boost your child's attention span, concentration, and memory with breakfast foods that are rich in whole grains, fiber, and protein, and low in added sugar.

Well, we hope that you have stayed safe and warm during this winter weather. As the district announced, we are out of school on Monday, January 22, and the district will re-examine road conditions tomorrow.
As we head into the winter months, we want to remind you of our commitment to providing a safe and healthy learning environment for your child. With the colder weather, we will continue to monitor the temperature in our classrooms to ensure that they are comfortable for your child. We encourage you to dress your child in layers so that they can adjust to the temperature changes throughout the day. We are forecasted for inclement weather this week. We have been looking at our Term 2 Benchmark data, and we are very pleased with the progress your students are making. We are seeing growth across their time at JMS and in the year they are in. We appreciate your support for all the work we do to get your students to succeed.
We hope that your family and students have had a relaxing and recharging winter break. This is a short week, with students returning on Wednesday. Wednesday is a normal Wednesday schedule.
Math and Social Studies Benchmarks are Monday and Tuesday, with Makeups happening for the remainder of the week. Remember, benchmarks are FORMATIVE assessments. We use them to guide instruction, plan for intervention, and monitor student progress
