The Oak Ridge Board of Education approved a Human Sexuality program, designed for students in grade 6, providing age-appropriate information on the emotional, social, and physical aspects of growing up. In the 6th grade program, boys and girls will be separated, but will watch both videos. The program will be during Physical Education Class on the following dates: 3/4/2019 and 3/5/2019. The students will be shown the following two short videos on puberty for boys and puberty for girls. The links for the videos are:

Information on sexually transmitted diseases, refusal skills, abstinence and HIV-AIDS is also included. Students will remain in the same classroom, unlike when boys and girls were separated in the 6th grade program. The program will be provided during Physical Education Class on the following dates: 3/4/2019 and 3/5/2019. The information will be presented by Mrs. Tracey Robbins.

Please have child return the form to PE teacher if you DO NOT want your child to participate in this program. Tennessee law mandates that we have parental permission for students to be involved in this class. If we do not receive your opt out form, your child will be involved in this program.
