STUDENT INFO

Congratulations to ORHS Masquers for being honored as Best Overall Musical at the Tennessee Theatre Marquee Awards last Saturday! Max Mishler and Norah Younger were chosen for top honors as Best Lead Actor and Actress. Max and Norah will now go to New York City to perform with 102 other students from all over the country on a Broadway stage on June 24th. They will spend 10 days living at Julliard, working with Broadway directors, choreographers, and vocal coaches. Masquers is so proud of all their students for their accomplishments. Masquers is already gearing up for next year! Come learn more about Puffs, the Fall Play, The Addams Family, the Spring Musical, and other performance and technical opportunities.  Auditions for Puffs will take place the second week back to school on Monday, July 29th. Puffs is “A fast-paced romp through the ‘Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic.’ This clever and inventive play gives you a new look at a familiar adventure from the perspective of the Puffs. To help everyone get ready, we are having an interest meeting on Thursday, May 23rd after school in the auditorium. Encourage anybody and everybody interested in being a part of Masquers to attend! The informational portion will be from 3:15-3:45. Anyone interested in helping with props, costumes or set are encouraged to stay for a reading of the play. See you Thursday! (W-W 5/22) T. Lloyd

It’s idle-free week. Did you know that air pollution is the 4th most deadly health risk worldwide? The air quality poses many health risks. If you want to help your community, something you could do is reduce vehicle idling. Vehicle idling means sitting in your car with the engine on and not moving. (W 5/15) L. Wilmoth

AP Testing has begun at Roane State Community College’s Goff Building and runs through Friday, May 24th.  It is imperative that students check their school e-mail regularly for testing schedules and important announcements and updates related to testing.  If you are taking a digital test, don’t forget to charge your device and update Bluebook before test day. Celebrate your high school graduation where it all began! Our elementary schools are eager to mark your accomplishment with a celebration at their school. Please wear your cap and gown for the celebrations.  Glenwood Cubs:  May 16 – 2pm  Celebration, 3pm – Clap Out and Pictures.  Willowbrook Bears – May 16 – arrive by 8:45am, graduation march begins at 9am.  Woodland Hawks – May 16 – arrive by 9:45am, – graduation walk begins at 10am.   Linden Lions:  May 24 – Graduation March with 4th graders – arrive at 2pm, march at 2:30pm (M,W,F 5/15) C. ATHLETICS

Any 9th, 10th or 11th graders that are interested in trying out for the 2024-2025 ORHS Boys Basketball Team should plan on attending tryouts on Monday, May 20 and Tuesday, May 21st from 3:30-5:30pm in the Wildcat Arena.  You must have an updated physical in order to tryout.  Please see Coach Green if you have any questions.
