Any junior interested in Work-Based Learning next year in the areas of Business, Information Technology, STEM, or Welding should make plans to attend the WBL meeting after school Thursday, March 7, in CS347. The job placement search will begin this spring for positions starting at the beginning of the 24-25 school year. It will be much more difficult to find positions after the beginning of the school year. If you want to secure a paid WBL position, start now by attending this meeting. T. Ledden
Attention all 9th – 11th graders: You may now access Registration Information for the 2024-2025 School Year on your Grade Level Canvas Page. You will receive your registration sheet in 1st period on Tuesday, February 20th. Complete this form with your parent/guardian. You will be able to self-select your courses in Skyward February 26 – March 1. Course selection must be complete by March 1st! You will be called to the Amphitheater to meet with your counselor during the week of March 4 – March 8 to review your course selections. You must turn in your registration sheet at that time. AP exam payments will be taken during lunch in the lobby from February 26 to March 1st. This year AP exams are $98/exam. AP Seminar and Research exams are $145/exam. If you are taking more than three exams, your fourth and subsequent exams will be $40/exam. If you qualify for free or reduced lunch your exams are $15/exam. COUNSELING INFO
TODAY, Wednesday, a recruiter from the US Navy will be in the lobby during lunch. A representative from the US Air Force Academy will be in the Counseling Office after school to answer questions you may have about applying to the academy. Stop by to ask questions and meet the reps. A. O’Rourke
There will be a resume workshop at the Oak Ridge Public Library on March 5th at 4pm. Stop by and get some tips to improve that resume for jobs, scholarships, and college admissions. A. O’Rourke
Seniors – The East Tennessee Foundation Scholarship deadline has been extended to March 1. And if your FAFSA has not been processed, they can leave those fields blank on the application. Students who do not upload FAFSA information will not be penalized in the scholarship awarding process. These scholarships are specifically for students in our area!!
