Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Students, please be reminded when a teacher assigns lunch detentions for the 4th and 6th tardies, you will not see an administrator.  You are expected to attend on the days assigned by your teacher.  Failure to serve a detention results in an ISS.  Admin.

The Wildcats are off to a great start at 3 and 0, averaging 35 points per game!  This week, they take the fight to McMinn County.  Wildcat Pride is sponsoring a pep bus to the game.  The cost to ride is $10.  Come to Mr. Jarnigan’s room, LC 321, for your permission slip.  Roll Wildcats Roll!  P. Jarnigan

From Principal Hawkins:  Central Baptist has emailed about our students’ misuse of their parking lot.  There is trash being dumped and students speeding through the parking lot, which presents a safety hazard.  They are also concerned with the number of students entering the wooded area behind their facility and the Highland View church during lunch and after school.

Central Baptist has a long-standing relationship with ORHS and allows our students and staff to park on their campus.  If their property continues to be disrespected by our students, they will no longer allow students and staff to park there.  We are responsible for being good neighbors and taking care of their property as if it were our own.  Please do not cause our school to have this privilege taken away.  D. Hawkins

Have you ever seen a motorcycle parked outside a psychiatrist’s clinic? We are pretty sure the answer is No, because riding a motorcycle takes away all the tension and stress, like you have rebooted your system. Motorcycle club will meet Friday, September 15th during lunch in the bus loop. Come by Ms. Fairfax’s room, LC210, to pick up the required parent permission form, then bring your lunch, and bike if you have one!, to lunch this Friday!  E. Fairfax

Get your ticket for Radium Girls! It opens this Thursday at 7pm. There are also shows on Saturday, September 16th @7pm and Sunday, September 17th at 2pm! This gripping drama based on the true story of dial painters who made labor history comes to life on stage in the auditorium. This fast-paced stage play looks at the commercialization of science and the American obsession with health and wealth.

Get your $10 Ticket online at orhsmasquers.booktix.com or at the box office one hour before the show.  T. Lloyd

The tradition continues! It’s time for the Senior Shirt Design Contest—the shirt that every senior gets to sign. Please submit your designs for the Class of 2024 Senior Shirt to Mrs. Ledden in Room CS347 by Thursday, September 21. You do not have to be a senior to submit designs for the shirt—open to all grade levels!

*We need a front shirt design and a back shirt design.  Each of these designs is a separate “contest”.  Prizes for each contest are as follows:  Front – $25; Back – $25. (That’s $50 if you win both!)

*Be sure to incorporate ORHS, Seniors, and Class of 2024 into your drawings.  Place your name and first period teacher’s name on the back of each design entry.  Entries must be original work and if selected, will become the property of Oak Ridge High School. (Selection committee reserves the right to combine two or more designs in which case each person will receive prize money.) (W 9/13) T. Ledden
