Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

FAFSA Updated Info  –  Two important deadlines are approaching for seniors who applied for the TN Promise.  First, file your FAFSA by the new deadline March 1st at 11:59 PM.  Second, watch the mandatory webinar in your TN Achieves account by March 1st.  Failure to complete either of these tasks will result in losing the TN Promise scholarship.  See Mrs. Thompson if you have questions or problems. Roses are red. Violets are blue. Buy a carnation or maybe buy two.  The Senior Steering Club will be selling carnations beginning Monday, January 31st.  Carnations are $2 each or you can purchase 3 for $5.  Find a representative in the cafeteria during lunch. (F) – C. Stalliard

Winter Formal is on February 12th at the DoubleTree. Tickets for Winter Formal will go on sale during lunch on Tuesday, February 1st in the arena kiosk. If you are interested in applying for Snow Court, please get an application from Mrs. Wagner’s room, LC 331 and return by Friday January 28th to secure yourself in the running for Snow King and Snow Queen. (1/25-1/28) – A. CLUB INFORMATION

 

The ORHS Key Club will be having a meeting on Thursday, February 3 at 3:15 in Mr. Schoolcraft’s room LC224. We will be electing officers for the 2022-2023 school year and will be discussing our upcoming projects. (Tu, Th – 2.3) – J. Schoolcraft

 

The Senior Steering Club meeting is today.  All members are asked to attend this brief meeting right after school in CS345. (F-Th) C. Stalliard

 

GSTA will meet this Thursday and every Thursday in CS335. Come check it out. (1/25 – 1/27) – C. Milloway

Fire Safety Announcement

 

Cooking

  1. The leading cause of fires in the kitchen is unattended cooking. Stay in the kitchen and be alert. Turn the burner off if you leave the kitchen for any reason.
  2. Have a “kid free zone” of at least 3 feet around the stove and area where hot food or drink is prepared or carried.
  3. Keep things that could catch fire (i.e. oven mitts, paper, utensils, food packaging, towels, curtains) away from the stove and heat sources.
  4. Keep stovetop, burners, and oven clean. If you need smoke alarms or assistance with home fire safety please call (865) 425-FIRE (3473) or email smokealarms@oakridgetn.gov
