Hey Wildcats! Today, October 13th, marks the second day of Spirit Week! Today is Disney Day,  make sure to take a picture and tag us on instagram @orhs_stuco! Tomorrow, October 14th is Meme Day! Also a friendly reminder, the spirit videos are due Tomorrow, October 14th and door decorations will be judged on Thursday, October 15th after school! (10/13) – A. Wagner

 

Just a reminder if you drive to school you will need to have a parking tag.  Last year’s tag is no good.  The tags are free.  Please come to Student Services and pick up the application form so you may get your 2020-21 car Tag. (10/13, 10/15-16) – C. Rhinehart

COUNSELING INFORMATION

 

If you are interested in being considered for nomination for NC State’s Park Scholarship (a 4-year scholarship valued at $203,000) contact Ms. Taylor by the end of the day Wednesday, October 14th.  You can find more information regarding the Park Scholarship at https://park.ncsu.edu/  (10/12-10/14) – A. Applications for the 2021 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards are now open.  Students who have volunteered over the past year can apply for the 2021 award at https://spirit.prudential.com/

Qualifying certified applicants will be eligible to win a $1,000 scholarship.  If you are interested, apply on the website then email Ms. Taylor, letting her know that you have applied.

 

GOVERNOR’S SCHOOL – Any Junior or Sophomore interested in attending Governor’s School 2021, please come by the School Counseling office before Tuesday, October 20th to pick up the guidelines and instructions on how to apply.  You must follow the guidelines set by ORHS when applying.  If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Taylor at: hptaylor@ortn.edu.  (10/12-10/14) – P. The Oak Ridge High School Counseling Department is very excited to announce our upcoming Virtual College Admissions Evening! This will take place on Tuesday, October 13th from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Zoom. Admissions Representatives from Vanderbilt University, The University of Tennessee, and Roane State Community College will speak about the differences in admissions at 4 year private universities, 4 year public universities and 2 year colleges. Vanderbilt, UT and Roane State will each give a presentation and then there will be a Q&A session with families. We hope you will be able to join us for this informative meeting. The meeting is primarily aimed at Class of 2021 families but all families are welcome to attend. You must register in advance for the Zoom meeting. Calling all artists! We have received no designs for the Class of 2021 senior signature shirt. Please turn in designs to Mrs. Ledden in CS347 by Friday, October 16.
