Oak Ridge High School is a 4-year public high school, established in 1943, with an enrollment of approximately 1,550 students in grades 9 through 12. Accredited by AdvancED and the Tennessee Department of Education, Oak Ridge maintains its status as a comprehensive public school while functioning as a resource and a support system for the individual student. Oak Ridge High School is proud to be recognized as a STEM Certified School by AdvancED.

Student Achievement
Oak Ridge High School students’ scores on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and the American College Test (ACT) have exceeded national and state averages for the past 40 years.
National Merit Program
Approximately half of the junior class takes the PSAT/NMSQT each year. For the Senior Class of 2021, there are five ORHS students that qualified as National Merit Semifinalists and are in the running to be recognized as a Finalist. The Senior Class of 2020 had four National Merit Finalists. The Senior Class of 2019 had five National Merit Semifinalists, and the Senior Class of 2018 had eleven National Merit Finalists. Oak Ridge High School is very proud of these students.
Advanced Placement
Currently 52% of the senior class, 48% of the junior class, and 21% of the sophomore class are taking at least one Advanced Placement course. Last academic year seven students earned AP National Scholar recognition, forty-seven were AP Scholars with Distinction, eighteen were AP Scholars with Honors, and forty-six were AP Scholars. Oak Ridge High School offers four post AP/Research courses, twenty-nine AP courses, seventeen Dual Enrollment courses, and twenty-four Honors courses.
