Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Students registered to take the AMC 10B or the AMC 12B exam on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 will need to report to LC-327 by 7:40 am.  Please bring #2 pencils. You will be allowed to use protractors, rulers, graph, or scratch paper.  No calculators, cell phones, or electronics will be allowed during testing. Your math teachers have the list of those students that have registered.  Attendance will be taken. (2/8-2/12) – J. Zimprich

No small sum of cash was dropped outside Mr. Senter’s classroom, LC330, yesterday morning. An honest student turned in the wad! Identify the amount and the type of bills you lost, and you can have it back. (2/8) – K. Senter

CLUB INFO

Book Club meeting in the library during lunch Friday, February 8.  Be there or be square.  (Tu, Th, F) – C. Milloway

Congratulations to our two ORHS Philosophy Club Ethics Bowl teams that competed at The University of Tennessee’s regional competition on Saturday, February 2. The varsity team (Braeden Gibson, Matthew Darring-Yerk, Avigail Duke, Lauren Schenk, and Patricia Anguiano) won 5^th place overall (of 18 teams). The JV team (Eli Welton, Joshua Maupin, Ben Bussell, Matthew Kendall, Miles Jackson, and Joshua Sheely) won 4^th place in the Dialectical Excellence category for dialog with the judges. Philosophy Club will meet in Mr. Pickering’s room (LC322) after school this Friday for a regular discussion. All are welcome! (2/7-2/8) – A. Pickering

Interact club will meet Monday after school in the amphitheater until 4.

COUNSELING INFO

The Anderson County Democratic Women’s Scholarship is offering a $500 award to a female student. If you would like to be considered for this scholarship, please attach a paragraph statement to your local scholarship form that states why you think you would be a good candidate for this scholarship. Please turn this to Mrs. Morris in the Counseling Office by March 1st, 2019. Stop by the Counseling Office if you have any questions.  (11/16-3/01 F) – A. Morris

The mini-College Fair has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 5^th during 5^th period lunch (11:30-12:30). Students of all grade levels and parents are welcome to meet with admissions counselors. It is not too early for even freshmen to be learning about college entrance requirements to make sure their four year schedules here are arranged to meet their post-secondary plans. (2/6-2/8) – K. Tonight is Senior Night!  Seniors with ID badges will get in free to the ballgame.  BJV starts @ 4:30 – GV @ 6:00 and BV @ 7:30.
