Winter Formal is coming! Student Council will be hosting its first ever Winter Formal on February 2nd from 7 to 10 p.m.! If you would like to nominate yourself or somebody else for the Snow Court, then please stop by Mrs. Wagner’s class (LC331) to fill out a short form. These nominations are due by January 18th! There will be a boy and a girl from each grade on the court. Tickets are $15, and will be sold 2 weeks before the dance in the arena kiosk and top of the cafeteria. All proceeds will go towards money for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Get your semi-formal to formal attire ready! (1/9-1/18 WF) – A. Wagner

CLUB INFO
The Computer Science Club is offering a computer science tutorial for beginners in Python this Wednesday, January 16, in Mr. Jackson’s room, LC227 until 3pm. All are welcome! No prior coding knowledge is needed. (1/14-1/16) – K. Jackson
All students are invited to the Gay Straight Trans Alliance meetings every Thursday right after school in Ms. Adler’s room LC106 until 4 pm. Snacks always provided! (1/15-1/16) – E. Adler

The University of Georgia is now accepting applications for the 2019 VetCAMP, which is scheduled for June 16-22. This program is offered to rising high school juniors and seniors and rising college freshman to evaluate their skills and competitiveness as future veterinarians, provide mentorship and help them experience veterinary medicine as an exciting career path. It’s a great experience and the students have a lot of fun while also learning about the profession. If you’re interested, stop by the Counseling Office for more info or visit the ORHS Counseling scholarships page. Deadline to apply is January 25th. (W -12.12 – 1.23) – A. Morris
The ORHS Counseling Department will host a parent evening on course selection and registration for the 2019-2020 school year next Thursday evening, January 17th from 6:00-7:30 pm in the ORHS Amphitheater. In this seminar, counselors will go over the information that they present to students in their classroom seminars.
