Any student who is interested in co-op for 2019-2020 and has met the Business Academy prerequisites, please ask your counselor register you for Business Academy Co-op. India Food? Yes, we should have some at our next meeting! The International Relations Club will be representing India at Model United Nations VolMUN IV Conference coming up in February at the UT. Please join us this Thursday (1/10/18) in room LC327 from 3:10 pm to 4:10 pm. This is an exciting time as we prepare for the Model UN with the goal of promoting awareness of global issues and international relations through friendly but highly exciting policy debates and negotiations. This competitive conference is a great opportunity to engage in problem-solving skills, conflict resolution, research, communication, plus get a chance to meet new people from different schools across the area. Join Philosophy Club after school Friday in Mr. Pickering’s room (LC322) for an Ethics Bowl practice. Anyone interested in participating in the UTK Ethics Bowl should attend, but everyone is welcome to come to discuss and learn. (1/10-1/11) – A. Pickering
Ski club is going to snowy Sugar Mountain in North Carolina this Saturday. There are a few spots still available. If you don’t know how to ski or snowboard but want to try it, this is a good place to learn. We will leave at 4:30 in the morning and return around 8:30 pm. Next Friday we are skiing at Ober Gatlinburg, will leave immediately after school and get back around midnight. Ms. Sobek or Ms. Stevens if you are interested. (1/10) – D. Sobek
COUNSELING INFO
A representative from Yale University’s admissions department will meet with students in the Counseling Office this Thursday, January 10th, during lunch. If interested, please plan to attend. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Morris in the Counseling Office. (1/8-1/10) – A. Morris

The ORHS Counseling Department will host a parent evening on course selection and registration for the 2019-2020 school year next Thursday evening, January 17th from 6:00-7:30 pm in the ORHS Amphitheater. In this seminar, counselors will go over the information that they present to students in their classroom seminars.
