Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Time is running out.  The Musical Auditions are right around the corner, December 11 and 12.   If you are interested in auditioning for the timeless musical, The Music Man, go to the Masquers Information Board outside Mr. Moreno’s classroom LC 215.  There you will find information for what you will need to prepare for the audition.  Feel free to talk to Mr. Moreno or Mr. Fowler if you have any questions.  (11/27, 11/29, 12/1) – V. The Youth Advisory Board is sponsoring a holiday trip to the Opryland Hotel and Opry Mills Mall in Nashville, TN for Oak Ridge High School students on Wednesday, December 20th, 2017 from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm.  Bus tickets are $10.00 per person.  For an extra fee, students can enjoy lots of winter activities at the Opryland Hotel like snow tubing, ice skating, and much more.  Permission slips are available at the Civic Center Front Desk, in the Student Affairs Office, and online at www.orrecparks.org.  Spots are limited.  To register, call Matt Reedy at the Civic Center at 425-3450. COUNSELING INFO

Stop by the Counseling Office to pick up an information packet regarding the 2017-18 Xi State Essay Contest. Prizes range from $100-$300. Deadline to submit you essay is December 8th, 2017. (11/14-12/07 W,F) – A. Morris

CLUB & ORGANIZATION INFO

The ORHS Interact Club is collecting new and gently used books for children and teenagers! The new books will be distributed during the Oak Ridge Christmas Parade and the gently used books will be added to the little libraries around our community! Look for the Christmas wrapped boxes in the lobby and in the counseling office.  (11/14, 11/17, 11/20, 11/27, 11/28, 12/1, 12/4) – A. King

Ski club has 3 trips planned this winter and we want you to come ski or snowboard with us.  We will travel to Winter Place, WV, Sugar Mountain, NC and Obergatilinburg.  You can sign up for one, two or all three trips.  See Ms. Sobek or Ms. Stevens for more information. (11/30-12/1) – D. Sobek

Should parents be allowed to use taxpayer funded vouchers to send their children to independent charter schools or private schools instead of public schools? Join Philosophy Club after school today in Mr. Pickering’s room (LC322) for an Ethics Bowl case on school choice. (12/1) – A. Pickering
