Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

 

STUDENT INFO

 

It’s that time of year…Prom Season!! Prom will take place in the Wildcat Arena on Saturday, April 26, from 7:30-11:00 pm. Prom tickets will be on sale in April for TWO WEEKS ONLY! You must pay with CASH or CHECK, NO CARD PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Tickets are non-refundable. If you buy your tickets early, you will get an Early Bird Discount!  The prom board will be selling tickets in the concession stand outside of the Wildcat Arena during third block to JUNIOR AND SENIOR STUDENTS ONLY. No freshman or sophomore students will be allowed to purchase a ticket.

Early bird tickets are $40.00 per person and will be sold from Tuesday April 1st – Friday April 4th.  You may also purchase tickets for $50.00 per person from Monday April 21st – Thursday April 24th.

 

The application window for students who wish to join the National Honor Society is now open through Friday, April 11th. To be eligible, you must be a JUNIOR with a 3.8 weighted GPA. Please click on the link on your class canvas page or in the iNews to apply. If you have any questions, please see Dr. Thomas or Mr. Feuer.

 

Atomic Acts is this Friday, April 11th at 7pm in the auditorium. Join us for a series of 7 short dramatic and comedic plays directed by students and performed by Masquers veterans and newcomers. It is a great night of theatre with over 40 students involved in directing, acting, and running the technical aspects of the show. Tickets are $5 at the door or online at orhsmasquers.booktix.com.

 

The ORHS Business Academy’s 12 student businesses are open for sales now – May 2nd.  With products like bracelets, hand sanitizers, planners, sweets, gift baskets, flowers, fashion tees, promposal boards, & a specialty light for your phone charger you are sure to find something special for you or that special someone. Calling all talented artists 9-12 grades!

Are you creative and love the Wildcat spirit?  We’re excited to announce a Convocation Cover contest for the Class of 2025!  Show off your artistic skills by designing a Wildcat-themed cover for our Convocation program. The winner will receive a $50.00 prize this year!

Attention: for those taking the AP English Language and Composition Exam, a special review session is being offered Wednesday 4/9 at 2:00PM in CS 331 with Ms. Jordan. All AP Lang students are welcome.

SENIORS

The ORHS English Department is offering a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior who plans to attend a two- or four-year college or university. This year essays will be composed and submitted in person on April 9, after school from 2:15-3:15 in CS 319. To register, see Mr. Feuer in CS 319 for an application form. All responses will be anonymously reviewed, and a winner chosen by a committee of teachers across multiple subjects.

 

Please come and join us for the Annual Senior Tea, Honoring The Class of 2025 on Wednesday, April 16, 2:15-3:30 in the ORHS cafeteria. Dress as an Author or Favorite Book Character, bring your costume to change into right after school, and hopefully win one of 6 gift cards. Cash prizes will also be given as door prizes just for attending!  Delicious light refreshments will be served along with tea and lemonade.  All Seniors are invited to attend the Tea and kick off the Senior Activities!  If you have any questions, email jzimprich@ortn.edu.

 

Seniors, there’s a party going on – yours! The Annual Graduation Celebration on May 16th. Free!

You start at the Civic Center at 10 pm with friends, food and fun and then travel via buses for an all night adventure at The Main Event! All games and activities FREE! More friends, food and fun until 5 am when you ride the bus back to the Civic Center.

Register at graduationcelebration.org. Everyone must register online. Students who are not 18 on May 16th must also complete a hard copy form with a parent signature – mailed to all seniors, handed out at senior supply day, available in Student Services.

 

Seniors: please try on your caps and gowns now while we have time for exchanges. If there are any sizing issues, please see Mrs. Ledden in CS347.

 

Call for entries! The art department is accepting entries to the 2025 Visual Arts Senior Show, which will be on display during Senior tea. The artwork must have been made in a class at ORHS. Please submit your artwork to Ms. Eades, Mr. Moseley, Mrs. Royster, or Ms. Shcrock by April 9th.

CLUB INFO

 

The Student Council Leadership Breakfast will be held on Wednesday April 9th at 7:15am in LC311, Mrs. Wagner’s room. This is an informational meeting for any students wishing to run for class officer or student council officer positions for the 2025-2026 school year. Applications for candidates are due April 16th, and the elections will be held on April 25th.

 

Hola Spanish club will meet today in LC 304 in Señora Franco’s room immediately after school

 

ATHLETICS

 

Powder Buff sign-ups are happening now. You can visit the sign-up table during lunch hour. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the table will be outside the Arena and on Wednesdays, the table will be in the cafeteria. The cost is $20 per player. Grab your friends and sign up to compete against the other grade levels! For more information, see a volleyball girl or Coach Ellis in LC 222.
