Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

 

STUDENT INFO

 

Get excited! The highly anticipated Winter Formal is just around the corner, and will be on Saturday, February 1st at the DoubleTree Hotel from 6 PM to 9 PM. Students have the opportunity to apply for the coveted positions on the Snow Court. There will be one boy and one girl from each graduating class. Applications for these positions will open on January 7th and close on January 15th. They are available on the Canvas Wildcat Hangout page. The final Snow Court will be announced Tuesday, January 21. The chosen princes and princesses will raise money for Second Harvest and the prince and princess that raise the most money will be crowned Snow King and Queen at the dance. Any cadet from the last semester or this semester who is interested in attending the NJROTC class trip to Washington DC and New York from March 9-15, please make plans to attend the mandatory trip meeting with at least one of your parents, which will be held at 1800 (6 pm) on January 14, 2025, in the ORHS Amphitheatre. SENIORS

Seniors!  The East Tennessee Foundation (ETF) awards scholarships from over 75 scholarship funds in 25 East Tennessee counties.  There are two specific to ORHS Students:

The Oak Ridge Rotary Brad Sturm and the Oak Ridge Rotary Founders’ Day Scholarship

ETF also coordinates scholarship awards for students from 16 counties and states outside of our 25-county service area, and for students studying law, architecture, or sports-related fields of study. Go to the ETF Foundation website for more information.  Do not miss out on this opportunity!

Seniors: Would you like to share a senior quote and/or memory in the yearbook?  If so, you must fill out the survey shared with you on skyward and canvas.  This must be turned in by Monday, January 13.  Remember to keep these school appropriate or they will NOT be published.

 

CLUB INFO

 

German Club is meeting for the first time this year on this Thursday, January 9th, in Mrs. Nebenfuehr’s room CS 301.  It’s our first get-together in the year 2025!. We will welcome new members and discuss our plans for this spring semester.  As usual we have games, music and good conversations!

 

The Interact Club will meet Monday, January 13, after school in the amphitheater.  We will work on the scrap book and shirt design.  Seniors, come by at the beginning of the meeting and then head to the Tennessee Promise Meeting at 3:40pm in the cafe.

ATHLETICS

 

Anyone interested in playing football for the 2025 season who did not play last year please see Coach Rang in LC 224.  He will have information about off-season workouts.
