TODAY, Wednesday, is the deadline to reserve a spot on a Powderpuff team. Each grade level will have a team in the games, and we need YOU to represent your grade in this fun athletic contest. Permission forms and more info can be found in Mrs. Wagner’s room, LC311.  A. Wagner

 

The Environmental Club has two great opportunities to celebrate Earth Day next week!

On Saturday April 20th, we will hold a creek cleanup from 10am-12:30pm here on campus. We will have boots available for the creek. Please meet at the Wildcat Arena Parking Lot.

Monday April 22nd is Earth Day! Celebrate by wearing Blue or Green to school. Immediately after school Monday we will have yummy snacks provided in LC107 for anyone who joins us for litter cleanup on campus from 3:15-5:00pm. Please see Mr. Alexander with questions.  J. Alexander

 

AP TESTING 2024:  ALL AP Testing this year will be taking place at Roane State Community College’s Goff Building beginning on Monday, May 6th and running through Friday, May 24th.  Students taking a DIGITAL AP Exam must report to Roane State’s Goff Building with their device TODAY, Wednesday, April 17th anytime between 2:00pm and 4:30pm to prepare their device for upcoming testing. This process should only take about 10-15 minutes.  Digital tests include English Literature, English Language, European History, APUSH, World History Modern, Computer Science Principles, and Seminar.  All test related information will be communicated through Skyward and e-mail.  It is imperative that students check their school e-mail regularly for testing schedules, room locations and important announcements and updates related to testing.   J. The Wildcats for Change are hosting their annual Game Night tomorrow, Thursday, April 18 from 4:30 to 6pm in the upper level of the cafeteria. The Kona Ice truck will be here!  Bring your favorite board game and a friend!   A. King

SENIOR INFO

 

 

Seniors, if you’re interested in taking the ACT Career Readiness Assessments in Applied Math, Graphic Literacy, and Workplace Documents you must register by April 26th.  The form to register and more information about the assessments can be found in your ORTN email.  The assessments are free and will happen in the Amphitheatre on Friday, May 3rd at 8am.

Seniors: Mrs. Ledden has extra tassels and a few announcements for students who only need a couple of announcements. Tassels are $10 each, and announcements are $1.50 each. Cash only. If you need more than a couple of announcements, you should place the order online at Jostens.com ASAP to allow time for processing and shipping and before Jostens runs out completely. There is only a limited number of extras printed beyond the pre-orders.  T. Ledden

Are you a senior that has been in an art class? This is the call for entries for the senior art show, and your chance to showcase your work. Seniors may submit up to 2 of your favorite artworks made at ORHS to any of the art teachers by April 22nd. Works can be 2D or 3D. Visual Arts senior night is Friday, May 3rd from 6-7pm, in front of the auditorium.  H. Eades

Chuck Fleishmann will be hosting our annual Military Academy Day on Saturday, April 20th, 2024.  The event will take place at the UTC Student Center at 10:00am.  Everyone is invited to hear from Congressman Fleischmann, representatives from five military academies and college ROTC programs.  A.
