Attention all current or future French students who are in 9-11th grade! Are you interested in expanding your French language skills and making global connections that could become lifelong friendships? If so, bring a parent or guardian and come to our 2024 French exchange interest meeting on Tuesday, September 5th at 6PM in the ORHS Amphitheater. Attention all Sophomores and Juniors! The PSAT/NMSQT is an OPTIONAL Practice SAT test that will be offered to 10th and 11th graders here at ORHS on Tuesday, October 24th at 7:50am. The test should end by 1:00pm, and lunch will be available in the food court for students who took the test.  Online registration and fee payment will run August 28th through September 8th.  The cost is $18. No refunds are available if you don’t take the test.  A limited number of exams are available. Please sign up by the September 8th deadline.  J. Milligan

Student Council and Wildcats for Change will be hosting a Club Fair TODAY, August 30, 2023 in the cafeteria.  Bus riders will be able to visit the Fair at 1:30pm and the fair will stay open until 3pm.  Kona Ice will also be on-site.  Come out and see all the clubs ORHS has to offer!  A. King

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. This test will be administered Wednesday, Sept. 6th beginning at 8:00 a.m. (Students are responsible for any classwork missed.) Seating is limited, so please sign up as soon as possible. Reminders to all Juniors and Seniors who have the privilege of off-campus lunch.  St. Mary’s serves lunch every Monday for students.  First United Methodist serves lunch every Thursday.  Eat lunch for a fraction of the cost of fast food!  S. Thompson

Hello everybody! Are you interested in hosting a German Exchange Student for the three weeks after spring break? Would you like to show that student what it means to be a teenager in Oak Ridge? Take them to school, to lunch, to your afternoon activities, watch TV with them, play Videogames, welcome them into your group of friends.  If you are interested, ask your parents/guardians and let Frau Nebenfuehr know as soon as possible!  S. Hallo und Willkommen, The German Club will meet on Friday right after school in Ms. Nebenfuehr’s classroom CS 301. We will have popcorn and games and discuss topics you are interested in and relate to the contemporary culture of Germany and other German speaking countries. (W,Th,F 9/1) S. Nebenfuehr
