Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Attention all Sophomores and Juniors! The PSAT/NMSQT is an OPTIONAL Practice SAT test that will be offered to 10^th and 11^th graders here at ORHS on Tuesday, October 24^th at 7:50am. The test should end by 1:00pm, and lunch will be available in the food court for students who took the test.

**Online registration and fee payment will run 8/28 through 9/8

**The cost is $18. No refunds are available if you don’t take the test.

**A limited number of exams are available. Please sign up by the September 8^th deadline.   J. Milligan

Student Council and Wildcats for Change will be hosting a Club Fair on August 30, 2023 in the cafeteria.  Bus riders will be able to visit the Fair at 1:30pm and the fair will stay open until 3pm.  Kona Ice will also be on-site.  Come out and see all the clubs ORHS has to offer!  A. King

The Cross-Country team is hosting their annual pancake breakfast tomorrow, Saturday, August 26th at Aubrey’s from 8 to 10 AM.  Tickets are only $5.  Come out and support our Cross-Country team and have a delicious breakfast!  T. Wright

The Student Council Hoedown Throwdown has been postponed due to extreme heat. We look forward to line dancing with everyone once the temperatures cool down a bit. Be on the lookout for more info soon. A. Wagner

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple-aptitude battery that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. This test will be administered Wednesday, Sept. 6th beginning at 8:00 a.m. (Students are responsible for any classwork missed.) Seating is limited, so please sign up as soon as possible. Reminders to all Juniors and Seniors who have the privilege of off-campus lunch.  St. Mary’s serves lunch every Monday for students.  First United Methodist serves lunch every Thursday.  Eat lunch for a fraction of the cost of fast food!  S. Thompson

Please join us at the new Ben Martin Track TODAY, Friday August 25th for a special movie event from 5-7:30 pm. We will be showing Super Mario Brothers.  Bring blankets and chairs. Cost is $5. Children under 5 are free.  Concessions and Kona Ice will be available.  T. Sauer

Hello everybody! Are you interested in hosting a German Exchange Student? Would you like to show that student what it means to be a teenager in Oak Ridge? Take the student to school, to lunch, to your afternoon activities, watch TV with them, play Videogames,…? Welcome that student into your group of friends as an additional “player”? It would be for only the 3 weeks following Spring Break. In case you are interested, ask your parents/guardians and let me know as soon as possible!  S. Nebenfuehr

Would you like help plan Prom 2024?  Join Prom Board and help choose all things prom including the theme and decorations.  Pick up petitions and the required Parent Permission form in Ms. Eidam Dyer’s room, LC 313. All petitions are due by TODAY, Aug 25^th   S. Eidam-Dyer

CLUB INFO

Math Club will meet TODAY, Friday during lunch in CS236. Please remember to have your permission slip signed in Canvas! This week we will be working on writing the Interschool Test for the State Convention.  D. Pickel

The YuGi-Oh! Club will meet in CS 235 after school TODAY, Friday, August 25. All ORHS student are welcome to attend. Bring your cards and be ready to duel until 4:30. Please make sure you have a ride home afterwards.  R. Colquitt

Diversity Club meets in the Library next Monday and every Monday after school till 4. Stop by the library if you need a permission slip and don’t forget to bring it to the meeting on Monday.  C. Milloway

Health Science students: If you are currently or have been a health science student and would like to join HOSA, please bring $50 to either Ms. Minarik or Ms. Pointer by August 31. Come to our meeting on August 16 (next Wednesday) to see what the meetings are all about!  S. Minarik

This pass will give you access to every home Football / Soccer / Volleyball / Basketball / Baseball / Softball / Track event. (Doesn’t include playoff games.) –  Come by the Main Office during lunch or after school and ask for Ms. Seals.
