Students – To avoid interruptions or down time in computer usage, there is a REQUIRED UPDATE for installing the Windows Update that must be done before May 16: ***This is especially important if you are taking a Statewide Dual Credit exam on May 16 or 17, or if you need to use your computers for class those days; if the update is not completed before May 16, the update will be forced and you will be unable to use your computer until the update is complete.*** There is an announcement in Canvas or look for an email from Skyward with important information about THIS Windows update that MUST be done before May 16. It’s Powderpuff Week! Please join us this Friday May 13th for the second annual powderpuff games at Blankenship Field. Gates open at 5pm, and the first game will begin at 5:30. On Friday, May 13, yearbooks will be distributed in the B-Gym during a first period assembly schedule. You will be dismissed by announcement to pick up your book if you already ordered one, or you may purchase a book for $85, cash only, during that time. Only 60 books remain for purchase, and books are likely to sell out. Once they sell out, they are gone for good. (M-Th 5.9-12) R. Hale

TnPromise Opportunities
Robertsville Middle School will host their STEM night on May 19th. Volunteers are needed from 4:30 – 8:00 pm. A form has been sent to seniors’ ortn.edu email with a link to sign up to volunteer. The League of Women Voters will be passing out applications to register to vote and checking out the accuracy before taking the applications to the Election Commissioner in the Clinton Courthouse. The high school’s League of Young Voters will be assisting the LWV. (W-F) – A. Roberts
The party of the year is just around the corner — Graduation Celebration 2022! And best of all, it is COMPLETELY FREE to attend. Graduation Celebration is a positive, exciting, safe, all-night party for our graduates, held immediately after graduation on Friday night, May 20!
Doors open at 10:00 p.m. at the Oak Ridge Civic Center with check-in, food, and activities, and then the graduates will bus over to The Main Event in Knoxville for a private all-night party with all activities, food, and fun provided.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Are you planning to study computer science, technology or engineering? This scholarship from Perlego may be for you! The applications for 2022 opened April 18th and the deadline is August 20, 2022. Details have been sent to seniors ortn.edu email address. Please see Mrs. Thompson if you have questions. (T,Th)
The Mitsui USA Foundation Scholarship has announced $5,000 scholarship for students who will be freshman in the Fall of 2022 and are attending the following universities: any school in the UT System, Austin Peay, ETSU, MTSU, TN State, TN Tech, University of Memphis. Four scholarships will be awarded. Eligibility guidelines, application materials and selection criteria are available in the iNews. The application is due May 31st! The Knoxville Urban League has expanded to include Anderson Co and the City of Oak Ridge for their National Achievers Scholars program. Applications are due on May 6th. The National Achievers Society (NAS) is an honor society that recognizes and celebrates the academic achievements of students of color across Knox County and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for our students of color to develop mentoring relationships with professionals throughout the school year who encourage them to stay on track at school, engage in field trips, and follow through on their hopes and dreams for college and future careers.
Qualifying students received an invitation to apply in your ortn.edu email from Mrs. Thompson. NAS requires a current GPA of 3.0 or higher, completion of the application, including the essay, and attending the induction ceremony.
