Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

 

STUDENT INFO

 

The east side parking lot @ Central Baptist Church, closest to the HS Bus Loop, will be closed to all parking beginning next week on Tuesday, April 12 due to a construction project at the church.  Students are reminded that the use of this parking lot is a courtesy offered by the church. Please remember to respect their property, keeping it clean from litter and trash. (W-M) – T. Seals

 

National Economic Challenge is this week!  All contestants should see Mrs. Bauman for review materials or other assistance.  The state deadline has been moved to  April 8th . (Tu, Th) – B. Bauman

 

Attention all AP Econ students:  Mrs. Bauman will be hosting review sessions on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:10 – 4.  If you cannot participate during this time, please see Mrs. Bauman for Study materials. (Tu, Th) – B. Bauman

 

Applications to run for Class Officer or Student Council Officer for the 2022-2023 school year are now open. Applications can be found on the Wildcat Canvas Hangout Page and are due April 6th at the end of the school day. Those running for office will be announced on April 8th, and school-wide elections will take place on April 14th. Email Mrs. Wagner with any questions. (W) – A. Wagner

 

Prom 2022, Royal Garden Rendezvous, will be held on April 30th at 7:30-11:30 in the Wildcat Arena.  Tickets can be pre-ordered March 30th-Arpil 1st and April 6th-8th in the Arena Kiosk during lunch.  Pre-ordered single tickets are $30 and couples are $60.  Get them now before the price increases to $40 and $80 when they go back on sale April 25th-28th.

 

Are you planning on bringing a guest to Prom that does not currently attend ORHS?  Please pick up a Guest Application in Ms. Eidam Dyer’s room LC 313 or at ticket sales. Guest Applications are due no later than April 27th

Woodland Elementary will host their Spring Fling on Friday, April 22nd from 5:30 – 7:30.  Volunteers will be needed from 5 – 8 pm. This is an excellent way to earn additional community service hours.  A volunteer form was sent to all seniors this morning to your ortn.edu email address.  Any underclassmen wanting to volunteer, should email Mrs. Thompson for access to the form at sathompson@ortn.edu (Tu, Th) – S. CLUB INFORMATION

 

Due to today’s unusual schedule the SOUP Club meeting for this week will be held on Wednesday in Ms. Hondorf’s room. All are welcome to participate, but anyone who attends should be prepared to go over derivations for moments of inertia and the first 8 problems on the E&M Free Response review packet. (Tu) – E. The 2022-2023 ORHS Dance Cat Tryouts are scheduled!  Clinics will be held on Monday, April 4th and Tuesday April 5th from 3:00-5:00.  Tryouts will happen on Wednesday, April 6th at 3:00.  For more information and to have your name added to the tryout roster, please email your name, current grade, and current school to orhsdancecats@gmail.com. TnPromise Opportunities

Linden Elementary will sponsor FAMILY ART NIGHT on April 22nd.  Several volunteers will be needed from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.  If you are interested in this opportunity, please fill out the form sent by email or it can be found in the Daily Bulletin!   The deadline for signing up to volunteer is April 15th.  (Tu, Th 4.15)  S. SENIOR INFORMATION

SCHOLARSHIP  INFORMATION

 

BIG functions as a professional development association, an advocacy organization, an employee support group, and to provide community service. BIG’s goals essentially are to promote EQUITY in all aspects of American life, EXCELLENCE in public service, and OPPORTUNITY for all Americans. The Chapter’s mission is to assist and support BIG in achieving and retaining its status of excellence in the public and community sector. This mission will be achieved by maintaining effective communication in the black community on available scholarships to encourage students to continue their education.  Seniors were sent an email last week with the fillable PDF, and the due date is April 15th.
