Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

All those books you checked out from the library before break are due back now. If you’re still reading them, you can bring them in to renew. Already done? Please bring them back so someone else can check it out. Set a reminder on your phone so you won’t forget. (M,W,Th) – C. Milloway

Prom 2022, Royal Garden Rendezvous, will be held on April 30^th from 7:30pm – 11:30pm in the Wildcat Arena.  Tickets can be purchased April 25^th-28^th in the Arena Kiosk during lunch. Singles tickets are $40 and Couples are $80.  Tickets will NOT be sold on Friday April 29^th or at the door.

Are you planning on bringing a guest to Prom that does not currently attend ORHS?  Please pick up a Guest Application in Ms. Eidam Dyer’s room LC 313 or at ticket sales. Guest Applications are due no later than April 27^th. ( T, W,Th, April 11-15, April 18-22 and April 25^th-27^th   

Calling all singers! Auditions for the 2022-23 Ensemble and Select Choir will be after school on April 11^th and 12^th.   Sign up sheets are posted on the outside of the Chorus room door, PA 123.  If you have any questions, email Ms. Ragan at aragan@ortn.edu. (T-F) – A. Ragan

CLUB INFORMATION

Student Council will hold a leadership breakfast this Friday, April 1st. If you are interested in running for a class officer position or Student Council officer position or if you would like to join the Student Council class next year, please join us for this information session. The meeting will begin at 7:15 in Mrs. Wagner’s room, LC331, and breakfast will be served. Don’t miss this great opportunity to be the change you want to see in your school. (3/28-3/31) – A. Wagner

GSTA meets this Thursday and every Thursday after school in room CS 335. This week we’ll talk about Youth Pride and make plans to tie dye our Festival shirts. See you there! (M-W 3.30) – C. Milloway

TnPromise Opportunities

Do you need community service hours for TnPromise or your college application?  Soccer Club of Oak Ridge is sponsoring their annual tournament on April 9th and 10th and LOTS of volunteers will be needed.  Electronic signups are required by March 30th.  Seniors have a link emailed on March 17th.  Underclassmen wishing to volunteer should email Mrs. Thompson at sathompson@ortn.edu for a link. Linden Elementary will sponsor FAMILY ART NIGHT on April 22nd.  Several volunteers will be needed from 6;00 – 8:00 pm.  If you are interested in this opportunity, please fill out the form sent by email or it can be found in the Daily Bulletin!   The deadline for signing up to volunteer is April 15th.

SENIOR INFORMATION

Seniors: The Soccer Club of Oak Ridge needs your help and will offer community service hours for your TNPromise!  Check out the email sent by Mrs. Thompson or the Daily Bulletin for the sign-up link.  (Wed – Fri) S. Thompson

Seniors: The time has come to select speakers for the ORHS Class of 2022 Graduation and Convocation ceremonies.  Tryouts will be virtual this year. For specific information about how to audition, please visit the Class of 2022 Canvas page and find the announcement regarding tryouts. The deadline to upload a submission is April 1 at 3:00 p.m. (W-F) -G. Flanders

SCHOLARSHIP  INFORMATION

Attention ALL Seniors.  The Scarboro Community Alumni Association is accepting applications for a scholarship.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office, the Senior Canvas page, or by emailing Mrs. Thomspon.  Applicants should complete the form and submit the essay no later than May 2, 2022.  Please see the scholarship page for prerequisites (W 5.2) – S.
