Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

 

 

STUDENT INFO

 

The French Club will meet Monday after school in LC304 from 3:15-4. Please join us-current, future and former students! Merci!! (11/5, 11/8) – T. Tilson

 

The AMC 10 and 12 A competition will be held in the Amphitheatre on Wednesday, November 10th.   If you have signed up, please report there by 7:45am.  If you would like some practice before, ask a Math teacher for a previous year’s exam. (11/4-11/9) – J. Zimprich

 

The City of Oak Ridge Youth Advisory Board is hosting a Jobs Fair for Students on Wednesday, November 10th, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the ORHS Food Court.  The event will introduce students to possible job opportunities just in time to make some money before the holidays.  For questions, contact Leah Riley at the Civic Center Front Desk at 865-425-3450.”  (M,W,F – 11.10)  M. Any Sophomore or Junior interested in attending any Governor’s School except the Arts next Summer, please adhere to the following ORHS deadlines:

 

  • Monday, November 8th – Deadline to request a Counselor Nomination if you are applying to Governor’s School for International Studies or for Sciences & Engineering.  These are the only two schools that require nominations and the forms to request nominations can be found in the online bulletin.
  • Friday, November 19th – Deadline for giving teachers and counselors recommendation forms and your resume. Tell teachers their letters are due to Counseling no later than Friday, December 17th.
  • Friday, December 17th – Deadline to turn in your complete application to the School Counseling Office.

 

 

The Fall Play “Clue” is 6 days away!  Do you have your tickets for this hilarious comedy?  Shows are Nov 11-14:  Thursday at 7, Saturday at 7, and Sunday at 2.  Advance tickets are $6 and are available from a Masquer or from the ORHS Bookstore in the main office.  Tickets will be available at the door for $7 for students and $8 for adults. Don’t miss this high school tradition!

Join Philosophy Club after school on Friday in Mr. Pickering’s room (LC322) for a discussion on cultural appropriation. Everyone is welcome! (11/4-11/5) – A. Pickering

 

Roll, Wildcats, Roll!!! The Motorcycle club will host a workshop on winterizing your bike next Tuesday, November 9th , 4 PM at Bootlegger Harley Davidson. Come out and learn how to take care of your ride, check out some great bikes and talk shop with other bike enthusiasts! See Ms. Hondorf in LC210 for more information and to pick up some freebies! The ORHS Key Club will meet on Thursday, November 11 @ 3:15 in Mr. Schoolcraft’s room, LC224. New members are always welcome to join! We will be discussing community service projects for November and December. (11/3-11/11) – J. Schoolcraft

 

SENIOR INFO

 

Seniors: Jostens will return to the Main Lobby and Arena Concessions’ Kiosk on Thursday, November 18, during lunch to collect orders for graduation supplies. Reminder: every senior must order the cap & gown unit (includes tassel). You must give the Jostens rep the order during lunch. Mrs. Ledden does not accepts orders.
