Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

The City of Oak Ridge Youth Advisory Board is hosting a Jobs Fair for Students on Wednesday, November 10th, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the ORHS Food Court.  The event will introduce students to possible job opportunities just in time to make some money before the holidays.  For questions, contact Leah Riley at the Civic Center Front Desk at 865-425-3450.”  (M,W,F – 11.10)  M. Attention Sophomores or Juniors interested in attending Governor’s School for the Arts 2022:

The TN Governor’s School for the Arts will be held June 4th, 2022 – June 25th, 2022 at Middle TN State University

Guidelines and instructions on how to apply have been sent to your school email and posted on Skyward. You must follow the guidelines set by ORHS when applying. ORHS has different deadlines than the actual Governor’s School. Information about Governor’s Schools other than Arts will be distributed in the near future.

IMPORTANT DATES & DEADLINES FOR ORHS STUDENTS

• Friday, October 29, 2021 – Deadline for giving teachers recommendation forms and your resume or a list of activities you are involved in
• Friday, November 19, 2021 – Deadline to turn in your application for the ARTS to the School Counseling Office

The Fall Play “Clue” is 8 days away!  Do you have your tickets for this hilarious comedy?  Shows are Nov 12-15:  Thursday at 7, Saturday at 7, and Sunday at 2.  Advance tickets are $6 and are available from a Masquer or from the ORHS Bookstore in the main office.

CLUB INFO

This Wednesday during lunch, Youth for Christ wraps up the video series that examined the question, “What’s the best news you’ve ever heard?” Next Wednesday we begin the video series that asks, “What’s the best love you’ve ever known?” through a study of the New Testament book of Philippians. Bring a lunch each week to LC330. All are welcome. (11/3-11/4) – K. Senter

The Senior Steering Club will meet on Thursday November 4th at 3:15 right after school in Ms. Stalliard’s Room CS345. (11/3-11/4) – C. Stalliard

The ORHS Key Club will meet on Thursday, November 11 @ 3:15 in Mr. Schoolcraft’s room, LC224. New members are always welcome to join! We will be discussing community service projects for November and December. (11/3-11/11) – J. Schoolcraft

SENIOR INFO

Seniors: Jostens will return to the Main Lobby and Arena Concessions’ Kiosk on Thursday, November 18, during lunch to collect orders for graduation supplies. Reminder: every senior must order the cap & gown unit (includes tassel). You must give the Jostens rep the order during lunch. Mrs. Ledden does not accepts orders.
