STUDENT INFO

Attention Health Science students: To join HOSA, bring $30 for membership dues before August 31. Checks should be made payable to ORHS, memo: HOSA (Health Science Academy). Please see Mrs. Pointer or Mrs. Minarik for more information or to join.  (MWF – 8/31) – S. Minarik

Do you like science? Would you like to test your knowledge against others? Join Science Bowl on Tuesdays and Wednesdays right after school in LC 105.  (8/5-8/11) – S. Thomas

Bell schedule cards are available in the Main Office, Student Services and the Counseling Office.  These cards fit inside your badge holder for quick reference.  Be sure they go behind your ID badge and not in front of your picture. (8/5-8/12) – T. Seals

Many students missed either senior portrait picture day or underclassmen portrait day. The makeup day will be Thursday, October 21, all day. On this day, seniors will also have their group photo made. Further announcements will be made closer to this date. (8/9-8/13 MWF) – R. Hale

The ORHS Key Club will host its first meeting of the year on Thursday, August 12 at 3:15 P.M. in Mr. Schoolcraft’s room, LC224. If you are looking for ways to serve your community, the Key Club is the place to be! All current and prospective members are welcome to attend.

COUNSELING INFORMATION

ORHS is happy to announce we will be able to host college representative visits both virtually and in person this year!!  We will announce visits in the Daily Bulletin and in the iNews.  We have our first in-person visit scheduled for Tuesday, August 31^st at 3:15pm in the Counseling Office. A representative from Savannah College of Art and Design will be here to answer your questions about their school.  No sign up is necessary for in-person visits.  (8/6-8/31 MWF) – A. Campbell

Senior Information

Senior Seminars will be on Tuesday, August 24^th with the seniors during the school day.  The counseling office will have a virtual meeting on Teams, Tuesday, August 31^st, for parents to go over senior information.

Seniors, are you interested in the University of Virginia?  The Jefferson Scholarship provides the entire cost of attendance, and many supplemental enrichment experiences, at the University of Virginia.  If you are interested to be ORHS’s nominee for this scholarship submit a resume and a personal statement as to why you should be chosen to Ms. Taylor by Friday, October 29^th.
