The ORHS JazzKats will be just one of the student groups performing at the ORHS Band Holiday Concert on Thursday, December 17th at 7 PM. Band Directors Michael Spirko and Sean Rutherford, along with the JazzKats, Percussion Ensemble and Symphonic Band, invite you to come and enjoy an evening of music in the spacious ORHS Arena. A fun program of music is planned including the always popular annual rendition of Sleigh Ride, by Leroy Anderson, performed by the Symphonic Band.
Don’t forget to pull out those unused instruments from closets and attics to bring to the concert! The ORHS Band Boosters (501c3) Instrument Drive is an ongoing event. Instruments are needed more than ever with the growth in the Oak Ridge Schools Band Programs and the needs of our students. Donated instruments will be used by students in the middle schools as well as the high school. The ORS Band Program truly appreciates every donated instrument!
The Arena has plenty of space for students and the audience to comfortably spread out to perform and enjoy the concert. Entrance to the venue is from the Providence Rd. side of the school, across from the City Pool. Please come support the talented students of the ORHS Band at 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 17th. Admission is free. (M, F-12/17) – M. Hughey
