Hey Wildcats! Today, October 15th, marks the fourth day of Spirit Week! Today is Decade Day, make sure to take a picture and tag us on Instagram @orhs_stuco! Tomorrow, October 16th is Wildcat Pride Day! Also a friendly reminder, door decorations will be judged on TODAY, October 15th after school. ALL GRADES: Do not forget to vote during school Tomorrow, October 16th for who you want to win Homecoming King and Queen.

 

Just a reminder if you drive to school you will need to have a parking tag.  Last year’s tag is no good.  The tags are free.  Please come to Student Services and pick up the application form so you may get your 2020-21 car Tag. (10/13, 10/15-16) – C. Rhinehart

COUNSELING INFORMATION

 

If you are interested in being nominated for the University of Dayton’s Leadership in Service Scholarship, turn in a resume and personal statement as to why you would like to be nominated to Ms. Taylor by Friday, October 23rd.

 

The John M. Belk Scholarship, at Davidson College, recognizes powerful students with demonstrated academic excellence, integrity, intellectual curiosity, willingness to take risks, and potential to be change agents in both their local and global communities. If you are interested in being nominated this four-year scholarship, turn in a resume and personal statement as to why you would like to be nominated to Ms. Taylor by Friday, November 6th.

 

University of Alabama – Huntsville is hosting a Charger Meet-Up in Knoxville on November 9th.  Charger Meet-Ups are designed for prospective current high school seniors and their families to meet with a UAH Admissions representative and receive more information about UAH, the admissions process, freshman scholarships, and more! Students can meet me in-person and bring up to two additional guests. Email Ms. Campbell (akcampbell@ortn.edu) for the registration link.

 

Applications for the 2021 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards are now open.  Students who have volunteered over the past year can apply for the 2021 award at https://spirit.prudential.com/

Qualifying certified applicants will be eligible to win a $1,000 scholarship.  If you are interested, apply on the website then email Ms. Taylor, letting her know that you have applied.

 

 

Senior Information

 

Calling all artists! We have received no designs for the Class of 2021 senior signature shirt. Please turn in designs to Mrs. Ledden in CS347 by Friday, October 16. We need a front design and back design for the shirt. Prize money: $25—front; $25—back. Let’s go Class of 2021! (10/12-10/13, 10/15-10/16) – T. Ledden
