Davidson College’s Lowell L. Bryan Scholarship recognizes scholar athletes who are strong leaders and performers in the classroom and impact players at the NCAA D-I level on one of our 18 eligible teams. Davidson awards two full tuition Bryan Scholarships to one female and one male athlete in each incoming class. If you are interested in being nominated this four-year scholarship, turn in a resume and personal statement as to why you would like to be nominated to Ms. Taylor by Friday, September 18th. Seniors now have the option to reserve their own parking space and personalize it! This tradition is aimed to display the school pride and the uniqueness of the individual through positive and meaningful artwork. This senior perk is optional and will cost $40 to reserve a parking spot for the year! Our school’s culture is built on the various personalities of our school, so let’s make it a wildcat tradition to display our school’s creativity and diversity and transform the lot! Applications will be available starting Tuesday with Ms. Sobek, Ms. Denisar, Alyssa Naudin, Mily Vidal, Adam Herron, and Marton Pientler-Krivan! Application collections will be Sept 14-18 in the morning and during lunch in front of the library. (9/8, 9/10-9/11) – D. Sobek
The tradition continues. It’s time for the Senior Shirt Design Contest—the shirt that every senior gets to sign. Please submit your designs for the Class of 2021 Senior Shirt to Mrs. Ledden in Room CS347 by Friday, September 25. You do not have to be a senior to submit designs for the shirt—open to all grade levels. We need a front design and a back design. Each of these designs is a separate “contest”. Prizes for each contest are as follows: Front – $25; Back – $25. (That’s $50 if you win both!)
Be sure to incorporate ORHS, Seniors, and Class of 2021 into your drawings. Place your name and first period teacher’s name on the back of each design entry. Entries must be original work and if selected, will become the property of Oak Ridge High School. (Selection committee reserves the right to combine two or more designs in which case each person will receive prize money.) (9/10-9/15) – T. Ledden
