Winter Formal tickets are now on sale! Tickets will be sold during lunch at the top of the cafeteria and in the Wildcat Arena for $15/each. Tickets are expected to sell out, so buy quickly! All proceeds will be put toward Second Harvest of Anderson County. (W,F,M – 1.31) –  A. Wagner

ACT Practice: The Oak Ridge Chapter of the NAACP and Oak Ridge Schools are co-sponsoring Saturday ACT Prep sessions at the Scarboro Center on Saturday, January 25, and Saturday, February 1, from 8:00 AM-11:30 AM. On the 25th we will focus on the English and Reading tests, and on the 1st we’ll focus on the Math and Science tests.  Instructors include Ms. Estep, Ms. Hale, Ms. Vaughan, Ms. Hondorf, Dr. Thomas, and Coach Etheridge. If you’d like to participate, please email Coach Etheridge (Aetheridge@ortn.edu) and indicate the date(s) that interest you. In particular we’d like to see students who cannot attend our Wednesday afternoon sessions, but all students are welcome. We’ll have door prizes and lunch. (W,F 1.31) – A. Etheridge

On Tuesday February 4, ORHS Student Council & Counseling Office is sponsoring Purple Night for the OR vs Karns game in order to raise awareness of teen domestic violence.  We are asking our students to wear purple as we highlight the importance of recognizing the signs of violence.  We would also like to invite your students to join us in this endeavor.  The YWCA will also be in the arena to share resources. Welcome back Anime fans!  Sorry for being tardy to the party, but we are going to make up for it with some excellent Anime choices to experience at Anime Club!  Come with ideas for our next anime series to view and help us start 2020 right.  Anime Club meets every Monday from 3:15 to 4:00 PM in LC 228.  New members, old members, or just lurkers are always welcome!  See you then! COUNSELING INFO

 

 

Cottey College Summer Workshop scholarship applications are available in the Counseling Office.  The workshop will be held June 15-20 in Nevada Missouri at Cottey College.  Participants will have fun while learning how to succeed in today’s fast-paced world, and will experience college life prior to high school graduation.  This scholarship pays for 100% of tuition, lodging, food and travel expenses up to $500 at the Cottey College program.  The scholarship is open to a female student who is currently a sophomore or junior.  The deadline for application submission is February 15, 2020.  If you are interested, come to the Counseling Office and pick up an application. SENIOR INFO

 

February 1, 2020 is the TNPromise FAFSA completion deadline. To remain eligible for the TNPromise Scholarship, seniors MUST complete the 2020-2021 FAFSA between October 1, 2019 – February 1, 2020. Complete the FAFSA at  www.fafsa.gov based on student and parent 2018 tax information. Failure to complete the FAFSA by the deadline of February 1st will result in loss of scholarship eligibility!
