As part of a Teen Activism Showcase, freshmen at Oak Ridge High School will be researching various community issues and the organizations that address them. Students will learn about current challenges and work collaboratively to create possible solutions to address local needs through legislation and advocacy. Please join these passionate students to learn about the changes they wish to effect here in Oak Ridge. The event will be co-sponsored by The United Way of Anderson County and students and teachers of Freshman CP English at Oak Ridge High School. The sponsors have expressed excitement about the students’ interest in helping others, being creative, and speaking out about their ideas for a better future of our unique community.
This interactive showcase will be hosted at Oak Ridge High School cafeteria, 1450 Oak Ridge Turnpike, from 3pm-4pm on December 18th, and light refreshments will be served.
