Celebrate your right to read during Banned Books week! Guess which challenged, shredded book is on display in the library and be entered into a drawing to win a prize. Hurry in, cause the winners will be announced at the end of the day on Friday, September 28. Join Philosophy Club after school today in Mr. Pickering’s room (LC322) for an introduction to Ethics Bowl and our first case on the ethical implications of new pharmaceuticals designed to help produce feelings of love and well-being in relationships. Please join us for the Annual College Fair in the Wildcat Arena Monday, Sept 24 between 5:30-7pm! This is a great opportunity for all grade levels, especially seniors, to explore options and meet college reps! (M) – A. King
I representative from the University of Chicago will meet with interested students during lunch on Wednesday the 26th in the Counseling Office. If interested, please plan to attend. (W) – A. Morris
The HBCU EXPO will be held on Saturday, September 29th from 9:00 a.m-2:00 at the Goff Building on the Roane State-Oak Ridge campus for 8th-12th grade students.
Former ORHS graduate, Brittany Mosby, the State of Tennessee Director of HBCU Success will be the guest speaker. FREE lunch and snacks will be provided.
College representatives from HBCU’s will be present as well. Workshops will be part of the day as well. Pre-register at hbcuorac@gmail.com or on-site registration begins at 8:30. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend.

Are you interested in attending NC State and would like to be considered for their Park Scholarships? Please visit the ORHS Counseling scholarship webpage for more information or visit park.ncsu.edu. Would you like to be considered for the Jefferson Scholars Foundation at the University of Virginia for the class of 2023?
