Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Students, please remember that you must remain seated in the food court until you are released by the whistle.  Additionally, it is your responsibility to clean up after yourselves.  There are plenty of garbage cans around the food court so please make sure to not leave any trash behind. Please do not park on the yellow lined “field” on the food court/front of school parking lot. It is located on the side closest to the turnpike. This is the WildBand practice field on campus. Thanks! – M. Hughey

Students: you are REQUIRED to wear your ID badge to school every day. The City of Oak Ridge has provided every student with a badge, a cover, and a lanyard for wearing it to school. Badges are a key card to the building and used to pay for lunch; therefore, it is vital they report it when lost. Students who lose their badge are required to replace it. The cost is $5.00. Given the current state of school safety, this is a requirement. (7/31-8/10 T,Th) – S. Thompson

Students who drive to school: A new parking tag is REQUIRED every year – regardless of whether the car is parked on the street or one of the surrounding churches. Tags this year are GRAY! The Oak Log yearbook staff this year has already sold 103 copies of the 700 available to us!  Remember, if you want a yearbook this year, you must purchase one early.  Forms are available online at balfour.com, through the weekly INews, and outside CS328.  The lowest price of the season is NOW, so buy one early, and don’t miss out! Senior Steering is now open for applications. Seniors with an interest in community service, leadership, and organization are encouraged to apply. We will plan all class of 2019 events, including senior breakfast, convocation, and graduation. Stop by the bulletin board outside Mrs. Hondorf and Mrs. Sobek’s rooms to pick up an application. Applications are due on August 15, and limited spots are available, so come quickly! (8/6, 7, 8, 10) – E. Hondorf

CLUB INFO

The first meeting of Wildcat Pride will be this Friday morning, August 10th, at 7:08am in the Library Classroom. Any Wildcat super fan is welcome to come. We will be discussing plans and promotions for the upcoming football season. Donuts if Mr. Jarnigan wakes up on time. (8/7 & 8/9) – P. Jarnigan

If you are interested in learning how to code or improving your coding skills, please consider the Computer Science Club.  We will hold an informational meeting on Wednesday, August 8th right after school in Mr. Jackson’s room, LC 227. (8/3-8/8) – K. Jackson

Do public policy, international relations, and political debates intrigue you? Would you like to participate in a model UN setting? Do you like public speaking, and more importantly, free pizza? Youth for Christ is a club for students who are Christians or are interested in Christianity to meet for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship to help support each other and reach out to others. The first Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting of the year will be on Friday, August 10 at 7:00 am at the Providence House, across the street from Wildcat Arena.  We will have Chickfila biscuits together and hear a word from Chase Tuggle, area director of FCA.  Come join Mr. Froning, Coach Jones, and Mrs. Byrd—all are welcome! Join the World Wide Wildcats on a trip to the capitals of Norway, Sweden and Denmark this Spring.
