Prom 2018, Midnight Meadows, ticket pre-orders will be sold to Juniors and Seniors in the kiosk during 5th period lunch on Wed March 28th- Thurs March 29th and Tues April 4th- Fri April 6th. The cost for pre-orders will be $30 for singles and $60 for couples. Tickets sold the week of Prom, April 24th-26th will increase to $40 for singles and $80 for couples. Tickets WILL NOT BE SOLD on Friday April 27th. The ticket booth will close 10 minutes prior to the end of 5th period to allow for everyone to get to class on time. (3/26-3/28) – S. Eidam

Would you like to spend spring break 2019 following the allied forces of World War II through England, France, Belgium, and Germany? It is the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Europe and we are taking a student tour to experience this history firsthand. Even though we will continue recruitment through the semester, the early enrollment discount of $300 is only valid for students that sign up by this Thursday, 3/29. It’s time for the annual Senior Art Show. Seniors wishing to participate must attend a short, but mandatory meeting Thursday Mar 29, immediately after school in VA 102 (Wakefield). Deadline to apply for the Sarah Ketron Scholarshiip from Altrusa International of Oak Ridge is quickly approaching this Saturday the 31st. Altrusa is offering scholarships of up to $1,000.00 to each deserving woman. For more information on this scholarship and others please visit the Oak Ridge High School Counseling webpage. SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY – The Spirit of Compassion Scholarship is offered to an ORHS senior who has best demonstrated an unconditional love and a spirit of compassion for the people of their community. The application period is February 14th through April 14th. Each applicant should provide a one page letter that details the activities they have done over the past 24 months to put their love and compassion into action in their community. They will write one short paragraph on why they have shown love and compassion to others. The scholarship will be for $500 and given as a check along with a certificate to the winner. There are no restrictions on what the scholarship can be used for. Applications should be turned in to Ms. Redman in the school counseling office by April 14th. (3/28-3/29) – P. Redman

National Honor Society will meet on Monday, April 2nd at 3:15 in LC-327. All members are expected to attend. Please see Madame Bailey in LC-304 to explain conflicts. (3/28, 3/29, 4/2) – L. Bailey

Attention Seniors, have you marked your calendar with your TNPromise mandatory meeting date? Have you asked off work and/or arranged transportation for your meeting? Your assigned mandatory meeting is 04/05/2018 in the Oak Ridge High School Wildcat Arena and will begin promptly at 5:30 PM. Remember, failure to attend this meeting will result in the permanent loss of your TN Promise eligibility. Seniors: Each year, members of the Senior Class speak at Convocation and Commencement. Tryouts for these Senior Speeches are held on one day. Make-ups are not available. This year, tryouts will be held on Thursday, April 5, at 3:15 in CS336. If you think you may be interested in trying out, see Ms. Sasser in CS336 for additional information.
