Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Those juniors who believe they have a 3.6 cumulative GPA through 3^rd term of this year, and who wish to be considered for membership in National Honor Society must pick up  a Verification of Interest Form from Mrs. Milloway in the Library.  Signed and completed forms are due back to the Library on April 10 at 3:15.  NO LATE FORMS CAN BE ACCEPTED!! Prom 2018, Midnight Meadows, ticket pre-orders will be sold to Juniors and Seniors in the kiosk during 5th period lunch on Wed March 28th- Thurs March 29th and Tues April 4th- Fri April 6th.  The cost for pre-orders will be $30 for singles and $60 for couples. Tickets sold the week of Prom, April 24th-26th will increase to $40 for singles and $80 for couples. Tickets WILL NOT BE SOLD on Friday April 27th. The ticket booth will close 10 minutes prior to the end of 5th period to allow for everyone to get to class on time. (3/26-3/28) – S. Eidam

The most recent edition of the Academic Planning Guide is now available on the ORHS website under the “Academics” tab, then Curriculum.  Updates include information about the new Middle College options for this year’s rising Sophomores and Juniors beginning on page 89. (3/27, 3/28) – A. Roberts

Students participating in the ACS Chemistry Olympiad should report to Mrs. Whitaker’s class (LC-211) today, Tuesday 3-27-18 at the beginning of 2^nd period.  Bring a number 2 pencil and a nonprogrammable calculator.  Mrs. Whitaker will have calculators available if you need one. (3/27) – J. We are pleased to announce the ORHS winners of the STEM World of 7 Billion video contest . . . drumroll please! In 3^rd place is Destiny Miniard, Jill Purcell, and Stephanie Black. In 2^nd place is Joey Kelly, Quinten Fritts, Jarred Julien, and Kamwren King. And the winners of the video contest are Abbie Walsh, Tessa Bennett, Olivia Beu, and Shelby Word. Congratulations! CLUB & ORGANIZATION INFO

Are you looking for an exciting and unique club sport? Come join the Oak Ridge Ultimate Frisbee Club! The team practices Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00-7:00 at Elm Grove Park. Bring plenty of water and cleats if you have them. Check out ORUC’s Instagram page at orhs_ultimate for more information and let them know if you have any questions. SENIOR INFO

Seniors: mark your calendars! Graduation supplies will be delivered on Thursday, April 5, during lunch. You may pick up your supplies in room CS347 (Mrs. Ledden’s classroom). However, you will only be able to pick up your supplies if your balance owed is paid in full. You may bring payment on that day or pay Jostens before April 5. Seniors: Each year, members of the Senior Class speak at Convocation and Commencement. Tryouts for these Senior Speeches are held on one day.  Make-ups are not available. This year, tryouts will be held on Thursday, April 5, at 3:15 in CS336. If you think you may be interested in trying out, see Ms. Sasser in CS336 for additional information.
