STUDENTS – Monday, February 19th is Computer Inspection Day! Students need to bring computer, charger, case, and stylus. We will be on an Assembly Schedule MONDAY.
“It’s Quittin’ Time in Tennessee!” Smokers who quit can add up to 10 years to their life expectancy. If you or someone you know needs help to quit smoking or using other tobacco products there are resources to help you. Students, in light of the recent tragedy in Florida we would like to remind you of some safety procedures we have in place at Oak Ridge High School: students and staff should always have their badge in their possession and it should be visible. Please do not let anyone inside our building. If they need access to the building, the front office can allow them entrance. (2/16-2/19) – S. Herrell
COUNSELING INFO
SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY – The Spirit of Compassion Scholarship is offered to a ORHS senior who has best demonstrated an unconditional love and a spirit of compassion for the people of their community. The application period is February 14th through April 14th. Each applicant should provide a one page letter that details the activities they have done over the past 24 months to put their love and compassion into action in their community. They will write one short paragraph on why they have shown love and compassion to others. The scholarship will be for $500 and given as a check along with a certificate to the winner. There are no restrictions on what the scholarship can be used for. Applications should be turned in to Ms. Redman in the school counseling office by April 14th.. (F – 2.16) P. Redman

Join Philosophy Club this Friday after school in Mr. Pickering’s room (LC322) for a discussion on national identity, immigration, and the current political debates over DACA. (2/15-2/16) – A. Pickering
The Interact Club will meet Monday from 3:15-4 in the college and career room. We will discuss the upcoming leadership conference.(216, 2/19) – A. King
The YuGi-Oh! Club will meet after school today in Dr. Colquitt’s room, CS 235. This club is open to all ORHS students. Bring your cards and be ready to duel until 5 pm! (2/16) – R. Colquitt
