Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Y-12 is hosting its annual “Introduce a Girl to Engineering” event on February 22^nd, and all ORHS girls are welcome to attend.  This free field trip is a great opportunity for our young women to hear from and talk with women in the STEM fields.  There will be demonstrations and booths set-up for every STEM field imaginable.  We will depart that morning and return to school in time for 6^th period.  If you would like to attend, please see your math or science teacher for a permission form.  All forms are due to Student Services by the end of school on Friday, February 9^th.  There are a limited number of seats, so sign up quickly! There will be a meeting for those students who are enrolled on the summer trip to Spain and France on Thursday, February 8^th at 6:30 in the Amphitheater.  Please bring two grey-scape signed copies of your passport and your folder.  There are two spots remaining, but time is running out!  If you are interested in traveling to Europe, eating Spanish and French food, learning to cook, watching a Flamenco show, or going to one of the favorite amusement parks in Europe–and potentially earning college credit while you do so–come to the meeting, or see Madame Bailey, Señor Gonzalez, Señora Ferguson, Mr. Pickering, Mr. Hickman or Ms. Toler for more information on how to enroll.  (2/5, 2/8) – L. You take your car in for service, don’t you? Now bring your brain in for a checkup with free NHS tutoring from Olivia Pabst, Reid Dukes, and Joshua Bridges from 3:15 to 3:50 in the Counselling Center on Thursday. (2/7-2/8) – K. Senter

Christmas is over now and Valentine’s day is coming up! What’s the best way to spread Valentine’s day cheer? Sending a flower for all to admire! Buy a carnation in the lobby before school and at the arena and lobby during lunch from February 8th through February 13th! Remember to have the home room teacher of the receiver of the flower in legible handwriting. $2 each or 3 for $5! (2/8) – B. Hondorf
